Information About William John - Exeter teacher - (11 reviews)
This is how 2 referees rated William John:
40 + years experience in guitar playing throughout South West Of England in Semi Pro bands covering, Rock, Blues, Soul, Country and Folk. Mostly cover bands but some original bands as well, including pro and also have been involved in recording work as well.
I added teaching to my musical endeavours not long after moving to Exeter, by the lack of available teachers at that time. This was precipitated by having been asked by members of the audience at various bookings whether I would consider teaching them or their children. I commenced teaching approx… 1987.
The business grew by verbal recommendation with very little advertising.
Originally I taught at pupil’s location, but have found that teaching from home where I have a mini studio works best.
I have had students travel to me from Dorset so I must have got something right.
I could still cater for those unable to travel within a reasonable distance at cost.
I joined the Registry of Guitar Teachers about 10 years in order to formalize my business and to gain the advantages that being part of a global organisation brings.
Each lesson is geared to the student and their needs and musical preferences.
I have taught all ages across a variety of styles and at beginner’s to advanced levels.
I teach the fundamentals of theory but do not provide grades at present as none of my students have ever requested it.
