Personal Description:

I am a professional freelance Violinist based in Scotland, and graduated with a BMus (Hons) Performance degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, in 2018, where I achieved a 2:1. I have extensive performance experience in both performance and teaching. As a performer, I have appeared with the Scottish Ballet Orchestra, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the Ulster Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Opera and l’Orchestre de Picardie. I also perform with Troppos Ensemble and am active as a session musician with Jazz and Folk performers.

Tutoring Experience:

Alongside having been a one to one tutor since 2014, I have also been a guest tutor at the Galloway Violin Studio for the past 4 years. I have been a supply instrumental teacher for South Ayrshire council, where I was an assistant ensemble coach, and was the Violin, Viola and Fiddle teacher at Dunbar Music School between 2019 and 2021. I have experience teaching a wide variety of students from varying backgrounds, and between February and July 2021 I was a Violin and Piano teacher at Music House in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Whilst there I gained invaluable experience working with culturally diverse students, as well as those with physical impairments and disabilities.

Tutoring Approach:

I teach in a friendly and informal setting where I will work with the student to cater to their specific goals and standard. I can draw upon various methods in my teaching such and Suzuki, Rolland and Galamian. I believe all have a place in music and can contribute to the musical personality of any student.
