Information About Joe - Glasgow teacher
This is how a referee rated Joe:
I’m a professional freelance Violinist based in Glasgow, and am a recent Graduate of the BMus (Hons) Performance programme at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. I have extensive performance experience in both performance and teaching. As a performer, I began in youth ensembles such as the National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain and the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland. I then went on to lead the RCS Chamber Orchestra, co-lead the RCS Symphony Orchestra and co-lead the RCS Opera Orchestra. I was also heavily involved in contemporary ensembles for the annual new music festival, ‘PLUG’, and played for several musical theatre productions. Since 2017 I have been a freelance player for the Scottish Ballet Orchestra, the Scottish Festival Orchestra, the Scottish Concert Orchestra and the Arta String Quartet. I am also heavily involved in one off projects in Jazz and Traditional festivals.
Alongside having been a one to one tutor since 2014, I have also been a guest tutor at the Galloway Violin Studio for the past 2 years. Through this I have been able to teach in group settings as well as individually and have had to cater to a wide range of abilities and levels of understanding.
I teach in a friendly and informal setting where I will work with the student to cater to their specific goals and standard. I can draw upon various methods in my teaching such and Suzuki, Rolland and Galamian. I believe all have a place in music and can contribute to the musical personality of any student.
