Information About Joe - Leeds teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Joe:
Hi, my name's Joe. I'm a 23 year old working and teaching guitarist who graduated from Leeds college of music with a first class degree in Jazz music. My strengths lie in most styles of music played in churches, and playing by ear. I've grown up playing music in church and this has been my main passion for most of my musical life - from CCM style contemporary worship, to modern gospel, and multicultural worship styles. I've worked in the studio recording christian worship, christian festivals and gospel events in the UK, as well as secular events and national radio.
I've been teaching since my mid teens and have over 1000 hours of teaching experience. I've taught from primary school age to adults in their 50s. My primary experience lies in teaching 1 to 1 and I regularly MD at my church - which can involve running rehearsals, creating arrangements, and teaching those to the band, rehearsing it with them etc. I have experience teaching both advanced and beginner musicians, secular and sacred music, to people with a background in music and those who don't.
I like to give a holistic approach to music education - covering music theory, how to play with a band, effects pedals and guitar tones, how to practice, how to build and create different effects with dynamics and guitar techniques. As a teacher I work closely with you to develop personal goals, and we work together on a simple plan on how to reach them. Each lesson always keeps your individual goals at the centre and is created to develop musical fluency.
If you’re interested in a personal and thorough guitar approach then get in touch. I'd love to know what you listen to, and where you'd like to go with your playing so we can develop your perfect music curriculum.
