Personal Description:
I'm a multi-instrumentalist and composer with a Master's in music and 15+ years experience playing in various ensembles. I have grade 8 in both piano and trombone and I've played as a session musician in film, having also been fortunate enough to play and record in places such as Abbey Road. Through my composing work I've produced music for a variety of projects including short and feature film, production library, and artist albums. Music for me helps tell a story, and speaks when words fail.
Tutoring Experience:
I've worked with young people and older adults too in a variety of ways, and the importance of the arts and creativity beyond simply school and academia is at the heart of what I do. I've helped people utilise music to tell their own stories, develop their creative thinking, and ultimately have fun at the same time! Encouraging pupils to tell their own stories through their music is central to my approach to lessons; it's important that we can all relate to what we're playing rather than simply playing it "just because".
Tutoring Approach:
I can help you learn and develop with lessons in:
Piano
Trombone
Music Theory
Music Production/Technology
GCSE/A Level Music Support
I’ve been playing piano and trombone from a very young age, and I’ve worked with people of all ages over the years making music. If taking grades is something you want to achieve, then I would be very happy to enter you and help you reach that. I can provide you with the tools, techniques, and knowledge needed to attain your music goals - whether on an instrument or on paper or computer - and enjoy yourself in the process.
