Personal Description:

My name is Jess and I am a full time music teacher teaching from my home in Malvern Link. Why should you pick me to tutor you or your child? I have been doing this for many years. I am very patient, calm and friendly - I seek to give confidence and enjoyment to my pupils. The main aim of my lessons is FUN! I don't just focus on exams and grades but also on getting a full musical grounding in both practical and theoretical music. I am a very experienced and acomplished musician with a modern music degree and I perform live regularly with my duo and my band. I work with all types of people no matter age, ability and I am willing to adapt and change my syllabus to fit my students (and encourage this!). I also offer specialist coaching for shows and performances (previous success is with Chigago, Hairspray and Greatest Showman to name only a few).

I have a degree in Modern Music Performance from BIMM (British and Irish institute of modern music - one of the top music universities in the UK). I also have qualifications in Music Performance and performing arts. I perform regularly as a vocalist in a band and also as a guitarist in a blues band and have experience recording (which I also do for my students)

People would describe me as a patient, enthusiastic, fun-loving, approachable person, and this is what I bring to every music lesson.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching music for almost 10 years as a self employed music teacher and now teach full time from my home studio. I have a 5* rating on facebook and lots of positive reviews. I specialise in 1-2-1 tutoring of singing, acoustic and electric guitar and bass guitar for a wide range of genres including musical theatre, pop, rock, folk and blues. I also offer songwriting courses and can help with song writing and artist development. I use Apple Mac computer, Shure microphones and have a variety of amps and guitars available to try (although after the first lessons I do recommend students get there own which I am happy to help with).

My focus is ensuring that everyone is able to enjoy their music to the best of their ability, and to have as much fun and enjoyment out of it as they can. I encourage the students to choose the songs they want to learn and we can work on these together together. I also offer grades in guitar and singing with Rock School and ABRSM for those pupils who want to pursue this.
