Tutoring Experience:

Jennifer has built up a healthy private teaching practice since moving to Eastbourne and is comfortable teaching from home or is happy to make home visits. She is currently the violin teacher at Gildredge House School and Battle Abbey Prep School and is happy teaching individuals/shared and group lessons. Prior to living in Eastbourne, Jennifer taught privately in London and for Greater London Tutors. Jennifer also has experience teaching special needs.

Tutoring Approach:

Jennifer teaches all ages and abilities - from getting to grips with the basics of the violin, all the way through to advanced performance level. I bring a lot of my experience of having worked in different fields of the music industry into the lessons and teach all styles of music: classical/pop/folk/jazz. I believe that an understanding of all musical genres and how to play them stylistically is a very important aspect to learning an instrument as it adds musical variety and it's fun! The initial building blocks of building a decent technique and good ear training are some of the most important skills to develop in the initial stages of learning an instrument.
