Information About Jennifer - Bridgend teacher

Personal Description:

I am a a flautist trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and The Royal Academy of Music in London. I began playing the flute at the age of nine and have never put the instrument down since! I love orchestral and ensemble playing and enjoy teaching at my home privately. I have travelled all over Europe with various orchestras performing and have recently moved back from Australia where I have been teaching in schools and playing with an orchestra. I am now continuing on my musical journey in the UK and hope to share this with many other aspiring flute players!

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught at a wide range of schools, primary and secondary. I have taught individuals and **Contact Detail Removed**. My teaching has covered beginners aged 6 and up, to advanced children and adults up to the age of 60! I have had many years of experience working with pupils who are interested in taking exams, and know the repertoire used for ABRSM exams. I accompany all my pupils so there is no need for extra accompanist fees and I have the advantage of being able to work with my pupils in lessons on the music together, this way the pupil has a greater understanding of how the pieces work together.

Tutoring Approach:

I aim to build early confidence as I believe this really helps my pupils to develop their skills and their own style of playing. I don't have a set way of teaching, each pupil is approached as an individual and I respond to the way in which they learn. This involves using techniques, visual or aurally or a mixture. I aim to keep all my lessons fun and relaxed, but with the focus on hard work and routine which will enable my pupils to reach their full potential. It is also important to understand whether my pupils are learning for fun or with more serious intent so the lessons can be structured properly.
