This is how 4 referees rated Janine:
Janine offers a FREE first / introductory lesson!
Music has been an integral part of both my professional and social lives. I have been involved in diverse musical groups, from a Trad-Jazz band to a Gilbert and Sullivan society, and many more in between!
I am a primary school teacher with thirty years of experience in teaching classroom music, ages 4-11. I have taught private piano pupils for the same length of time up to Grade VI. I offer music theory to Grade V both informally during lesson time or more formally to pass ABRSM exams.
My first priority is for all pupils to enjoy music and to have the freedom to express themselves as they choose. This is developed through generating enthusiasm and building up pupils' self-confidence in performance.
I teach the piano in the classical style using a wide variety of material collected over the years which is suitable and enjoyable for most learner's needs. I give clear targets which pupils can realistically achieve during the lesson and then develop over the following week. Expectations are different for each pupil and adapted to the individual's own pace for learning.
