Information About Jane - Frome teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Jane:
I am an award winning professional singer, songwriter and singing coach with lots of experience coaching singers and songwriters from all over the world.
I believe music should be accessible to everyone and that everyone has the ability to sing. We all have our own character in our voice and it's important not to lose that. I believe also that people develop much quicker if you give them constructive feedback and loads of support and encouragement. Music is about expressing who you are and how you feel and it's also a huge amount of fun so I prefer to make sure that I create a relaxed and professional environment with a positive approach to learning. I work from home in a really lovely studio with lots of light, warmth and air.
I have been teaching for 15 years, running group workshops and privately coaching singers and songwriters of all ages and from complete beginners to professional artists from all over the world. I am classically trained which means I can help you understand how to support and project your voice without making it too complicated. I have taught in schools and I am currently also helping a primary school write their own school song.
I have run the Mells Choir for 6 years and I also teach guitar chords and piano especially as an accompaniment to your own voice.
I like to strike a nice balance between having lost of structure and lots of creative play with the voice in order to allow you to explore what it can do! I have many inspiring methods and tools at my disposal to help you get the most out of your lesson and to for you to truly develop as a singer. I also teach songwriting and often incorporate the two together where there is interest in this.
I can accompany any song you’d like to sing, on the piano or guitar, and sometimes pupils will sing over chord progressions and learn to improvise and make up their own melodies, which can be a lot of fun and can allow you to feel quite free with your voice, which can feel empowering.
I prefer to work with what is in front of me and adapt and tailor how I teach to what's really needed in the moment. I also do like to give pupils somewhere to aim for and will always provide something for every pupil to work on after the lesson, at home.
