Information About Jan - Brentford teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Jan:
I was born in Russia and studied at the Gnesin Institute of Music. Graduate of the Royal College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music in London, I perform regularly with my chamber music ensemble, the Rautio Piano Trio, as well as playing solo and composing. I'm the Music Director of the Diversity Choir in London and I am the Artistic Director of the Ponte Cultura Music Festival in Vero, France.
I've been teaching piano, music theory and composition since 1998. I've been trained to teach and coach chamber music during my time studying at the RCM, RAM, the European Chamber Music Academy and as a recipient of the Leverhulme Chamber Music Fellowship of the Royal Academy of Music.
I encourage my students to learn all aspects of music: practical skills go hand in hand with the proper understanding of music theory and history. I adopt a positive, but thorough approach. I like to involve my students in group music making, as part of chamber groups, ensembles, etc. Strong sight-reading skills are as important as the ability to memorise material. ABRSM exam preparation.
