Personal Description:

I’m an Electric and Acoustic Guitarist with 10 years of experience; in this time I have played as an accompanist for many singers, played countless gigs and have featured on many recordings.

My career highlights include:

Recording at Abbey Road Studios with Cloudi Lewis – Electric Guitar & Backing Vocals

Releasing Cloudi Lewis’ Debut EP in March 2013 – Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Piano, Organ, Keyboard

Supporting Producers – Featuring Trevor Horn (The Buggles), Lol Creme (10cc), Stephen Lipson (Producer for Paul McCartney & Annie Lennox) and Ash Soan (Session Drummer for Adele)

Supporting Rachel Sermanni – An upcoming folk artist

Tutoring Experience:

I have previously been employed as a Battle-of-the-Bands mentor by Southampton Solent Univeristy, as a visiting lecturer for the BTEC Music courses at Wiltshire College and Totton College, and also assisted the music course at Andover college as a Learning Support Assistant.

I have been a working tutor in Salisbury for 5 years and have been fortunate to have developed a successful [and busy teaching!] practice.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach as a guitar tutor is to get you playing the songs that you want to play as soon as possible! Who are your influences? The Beatles? Bob Dylan? Pink Floyd? Sex Pistols? Iron Maiden? Oasis? Coldplay? Arctic Monkeys? Any of these artists and many more can be used to teach you what you need to become the guitarist that you’ve always wanted to be and make the music that you love!

When teaching guitar, I believe that your learning style and needs are unique which is why all lessons are individually tailored to your interests. Learning should be a fun and enjoyable experience that keeps you motivated to practice and always excited to learn more! By using grades as a framework for guitar lessons I can ensure that we remain productive and our progress can be measured whilst focussing sessions around your interests and having fun! I also offer music theory tuition for those who are interested.

My focus as a tutor is to make learning the guitar as enjoyable as possible and using RGT grades to give you a well rounded and balanced musical education. I am happy to teach in any guitar style to get you playing your favourite tracks in no time!
