Personal Description:

From a very young age I was taught the piano as both of my parents were musicians and music teachers. I am a patient and calm person with a positive attitude believing anyone can improve their skills with the right encouragement.

Tutoring Experience:

Starting out helping my father in my teens with his pupils, I began to teach piano myself from 1996 eventually introducing singing and theory of music also. I have taught many pupils over the years from aged 6 to 91 being all levels and abilities. I use the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and the Victoria College of Music for examinations which I have a 100% pass rate with high distinction results.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to teaching is by using a positive attitude. I always encourage pupils in what they have already gained on a weekly basis, I believe in my experience that this system helps with self confidence and therefore improves performance. I have a very calm and patient way which relaxes the pupil as I understand how a person can feel starting to learn how to play the piano or sing.
