Information About Jack - Glasgow teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Jack:
I graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music in 2013 with a Masters in Music. During my time at the college I spent two semesters at a local high school teaching one-to-one and small group lessons. After graduating I moved to Nice, France to join a band called, The Gypsy Queens, and spent 4 years travelling around the world performing at weddings, private parties and corporate events. I now live back in Glasgow where I have founded a new function band, Cassien, who have bookings spanning the next two years.
I taught at Sandbach High School near Manchester for two semesters covering for a teacher that was on sick leave. I taught both one-to-one and group lessons for pupils aged 11-18.
Throughout my career I have had a range of private pupils from beginners to more advanced students.
My approach to music tuition is to tailor each session to the pupils wants and needs. Every budding musician has a different reason for wanting to learn an instrument so each lesson should take that into account to make the most of it. Having studied at music college I have an understanding of traditional (classical) music tuition but I also bring ideas from other areas of music such as pop and jazz. What this equates to is trying to inspire a creative musical mind in my pupils rather than only teaching them to read dots on a page, which, I feel is of equal importance.
