Information About Iwan - Manchester teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Iwan:
Hello! I am a postgraduate student at the Royal Northern College of Music, and started learning the piano at the age of 7. I have won prizes for piano playing, including recently first prize in the RNCM Piano Recital Prize, and I regularly perform in concerts as a soloist or a chamber musician.
I enjoy sharing my enjoyment of music and the piano with those who want to learn.
I have experience teaching pupils of a variety of ages and abilities, including preparation for ABRSM exams and concerts. I received Pedagogy classes at the RNCM, in which we were given expert advice on how to become better teachers.
I also have much experience leading workshops in schools, and have received much training for working with children through my work on the Live Music Now Scheme (performing music in different settings, most often in schools).
I believe that learning an instrument is a very individual experience, and therefore I will adapt my teaching to best suit the particular needs of each student. I believe that it is important to incorporate many different types of activities into the lessons (such as sight reading, scales, improvisation etc.), for the pupil to get the most out of each lesson.
I am a friendly and patient teacher, and most importantly, I believe that lessons should be enjoyable!
