Personal Description:

I began learning and playing piano from an early age, passing grade 1 at the age of 7, and then progressing through the grades up to grade 8. I also studied music theory alongside my practical progress.
When I was 11 I also began studying the Church Organ with Mark Uglow at Emanuel School in London, playing several times for the school. Once I had completed O level/A level music I fully focused on Piano Performance and the Teaching of Piano and Music Theory. I studied with David Bevan and worked towards ALCM in Piano (Teaching). I have also gained ARSM diploma in piano performance. I have studied DipABRSM in piano performance and am now progressing onto LRSM and FRSM. After passing an audition I also study Piano Performance Masterclasses in London weekly. I have performed at private venues in London including The Corinthia Hotel and Century Club and am available for private functions. I am also available as an accompanist for ABRSM exams.
I am extremely passionate about music and its education. I possess a wide knowledge of different genres, I enjoy playing popular music and jazz just as much as I enjoy playing a Beethoven Sonata or Chopin Nocturne.
I am a friend of Wigmore Hall and attend recitals there regularly. I also enjoy attending concerts at RFH, QEH, Barbican, Cadogan Hall and St. Johns Smith Square.
I particularly enjoy seeing new talent flourish. Beatrice Rana, James Rhodes and Alexandra Dariescu being examples of recent time.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught piano and music theory for over 20 years, I teach pupils of all standards and encourage entering ABRSM grades as they are an excellent indication of progress.
Several of my students have progressed into professional careers and qualifications within the music fields

Tutoring Approach:

Having gained experience over several years of teaching, I keep lessons calm and encourage my students to do their best. I am passionate about students learning with a sense of purpose but within an atmosphere of enjoyment.
I tailor my lessons to suit my pupils character and enjoy inspiring them to reach their potential. I am dedicated to students learning all aspects of their music as they work through their books/pieces.
Versatility, technique, aural ability, and musicianship make a rounded, knowledge filled musician
