Personal Description:

I am an experienced songwriter (published by Sony, Warner Chappell, Boosey & Hawkes and more), an excellent performer and teacher and have been coaching for 20 years successfully. I love all music but my field of expertise is in contemporary vocals specializing in Jazz, Soul, Gospel and Musical Theatre.
I'm also a Mother and love working with kids of all ages!
Because of motherhood, I have deferred my PhD until further notice but my research in how singing effects the mind, body and spirit continues.

Tutoring Experience:

I've taught in all sorts of institutions from Primary Schools to Universities over the period of 20 years.
I've run choirs, workshops, music therapy classes, groups and one to one lessons and love it all.
A number of my students are now signed recording artists, on the West End in London or teaching to a high standard.
I was blessed to be taught by the late Glynne Jones who taught: Shirley Bassey, Annie Lennox, Anita Baker, Spice Girls, Will Young and many more household names.

Tutoring Approach:

Not everyone is a Pavarotti or Streisand, however, I bring out the best in people by instilling an excellent vocal technique. I don't patronize people either! Whether you are 5 or 50 it makes no difference. Music is fun and although it can get pretty serious sometimes, keeping the joyful element is important to me.

I teach classical and contemporary grades from 1- 8 and on to diploma and degree level. The results are always good.
One does not have to conform to the grade system as each person is unique. I work individually and do not have a set modus operandi. The only thing that is constant is the actual vocal tech which is safe. I know what I'm doing.
