Personal Description:

I am Piano, Keyboard and Music Theory tutor. I own Helen Music Tuition, and I am based in Hampshire and Surrey.

I absolutely love and I am very passionate about Music and Music education for both children and adults. The Piano and Keyboard are both wonderful instruments to learn in their own right, but most importantly lessons need to be fun, engaging and challenging so students can continue their progression whether you are a beginner, or someone who wants to get back into playing.

Tutoring Experience:

I studied at London College of music in Ealing, and I have over ten years’ performing experience, and nine years teaching experience. I am classically trained, and I do teach in a wide variety of styles and genres.
I offer day time and evening lessons all ages and levels are welcome. Lessons are available at my home, and I also offer mobile lessons too.

I have a put students forward for ABRSM, Trinity, Trinity Rock & Pop, and MTB examinations, achieving 100% pass rate. Exams are great for those students looking to set goals, or aiming to get into Junior college, or music college as they give students a clear structure, but exams are not for everybody.

I have and continue to work in a range of Primary/Junior and Secondary schools throughout Hampshire and Surrey too.

Tutoring Approach:

All students have lessons individually tailored to their needs, whether they want to play as a hobby, or want to work their way towards formal music qualifications, or prepare for college entrance auditions/exams. Exams are available through ABRSM and other exam boards on request. No two students are the same, and each student learns at their own pace, as well as preferring certain styles/genres of music. I have a full DBS check, and Public liability insurance, and I am a member of the Musician Union too.

I hope I am a friendly fun teacher who makes lessons varied, and enjoyable. I have taught students from the age of 5 to 92, I make sure to tailor lessons to each individual student in order to maximise their progress moving forward.
