Information About Hannah - Ladbroke Grove teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Hannah:
I am a fourth year oboist studying with a scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music, where I am the recipient of the Nicholas Blake Memorial Prize. I study the oboe with Christopher Cowie and Melanie Ragge, and cor anglais with Sue Bohling.
I was principal oboe of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain in 2015, and have since played with the London Sinfonietta, London Mahler Orchestra and Royal Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra. I came highly commended in the Grimaldi Cor Anglais Prize in 2016 and performed Vivaldi's Oboe Concerto RV 447 with the Brio Chamber Orchestra in 2017.
I learnt the piano at the Purcell School of Music with Alla Kravchenko, and at the JRNCM with Clare Cocks.
I currently have pupils in London studying oboe and piano. I have led multiple workshops with the Purcell School's Outreach Scheme, 'Impulse' and have visited Norfolk twice with this scheme to work in schools and give concerts to the public. As principal of the NYO, I also took rehearsals with the oboe section and led outreach sessions with their outreach scheme 'Inspire'. I have also visited the Purcell School to teach students there.
At high school I was part of the Reaching Out with Care and Kindness (ROCK) Scheme, through which I volunteered working at a children's nursery.
I find teaching very rewarding; I enjoy seeing progress in student’s playing, and also seeing that they are enjoying playing themselves. I believe that also nurturing a practice program is essential in development, to find ways to make practice fun and useful.
