Personal Description:

I am a classical music trained by Yamaha and ABRSM syllabus since young, both piano and violin. Gained a Bachelor degree in Classical Music in 2019, from UCSI University, majoring in Piano. In 2022, I have graduated and received my Masters degree in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Received my Trinity LTCL certificate in piano, Trinity ATCL certificate in violin, and Grade 8 ABRSM theory. I have been actively participate in university orchestra, shows, gigs for violin in my home country.

-Featured in the West Fest festival and performed as a vocal & piano ensemble group in June 2023.
-Finalist in Elgar Spedding Memorial Lieder Prize in May 2023.
-Awarded the Highly-commended prize in Dunbar-Gerber Prize for Chamber music in February 2022.
-Awarded the honorable mention in the 3rd Montecatini International Piano Festival in October 2022.
-Awarded the Gold Award in the 6th HK International Music Festival under the category of Piano Four Hands in the Malaysian Preliminary Round in June 2019.
-Performed as first violin tutti, second violin tutti, co-concert mistress during Bachelor studies in UCSI University Institute of Music's orchestra for 4 years (2014-2018)

-Tutored by Ms. Chee Su Yen during undergraduate studies, taught by Stephen Coombs and Sinae Lee, occasionally with Scott Mitchell and Graeme McNaught during master studies.
-Auditioned and participated masterclasses conducted by Mr. Alberto Firrincieli, Dr. Peter Amstuz, the Orfeo Trio, and Dr Lim Pei Sien, Mr.Graham Fitkin, Stephan Koncz, Leonid Shukaev, Evgeny Zvonnikov, both as a piano soloist and accompanist.

Tutoring Approach:

I am quite a flexible teacher. Students can learn music, pieces they are interested in. At the same time, I will make sure they get the right musical basics, right playing positions and habits.
Familiarized students with basic concepts of music such as notes, tempo, symphony, beats, compositions, and chords.
Advised parents of student progress by communicating student's achievements and developing methods for improvement.
Mentored struggling students with individualized approach to enhance learning.
Assessed student performance and provided constructive feedback to guide progress.
Evaluated and graded students' class work, performances, projects, assignments and papers.
Assessed student learning to evaluate student learning and progress through tests, performances and portfolios.
Supervised students during rehearsals to provide direction to students during practice sessions.
