Personal Description:

My name is Gurmakh and I am currently a music teacher in a secondary school. I have played guitar for 15 years. I mainly play Rock music, but I enjoy teaching a variety of music styles and genres.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching since 2019 in a high school. I have lots of experience working with young people and recognising how to differentiate learning and tailor tasks to suit the individual. As a teacher, I have access to lots of resources for a student looking to learn guitar or to improve upon skills.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that you should learn at a pace that is comfortable to you. You should also find a balance between exploring a variety of styles and genres in your playing while still enjoying the music you are playing. I was self taught at the beginning. I was subsequently taught by teachers who have had positive and negative impacts on my playing. I will ensure that your development and enjoyment is the focus of the lessons. People only progress when they have an interest in their studies.
