Information About Graham - Juniper Green teacher - (1 review)
This is how 2 referees rated Graham:
Currently, I am teaching flute for Fettes College, The City of Edinburgh Council and the Dunbar Music School.
I studied with international soloist and RSNO principal flute Katherine Bryan. During my time at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland I travelled the world and recieved teaching from eminent professors namely, Robert Winn, Lorna McGhee, Denis Bouriakov, William Bennett, Jeanne Baxstresser, Robert Langevin, Karen Jones, Kate Hill, Sarah Newbold, Ian Clarke, Siobhan Grealy and many others.
I offer the finest service which includes travel to pupils houses, piano accompaniment, my own sheet music (to help keep costs down), world class demonstrations and a wealth of knowledge.
I studied The Alexander Technique for 4 years which is all about noticing negative patterns and more importantly reinforcing positive actions.
To attain results in music you have to be critical but I think it's also really important to point out what students are already doing well!
I like to tailor the pieces we play to the individuals music taste. I try make my students think for themselves and ask questions in order to get them thinking creatively and critically. Demonstrations make up a huge component of my teaching, I'll often ask students to 'spot the difference', tell me which one they prefer or I might even imitate the bad habit the student shows to illustrate my point.
