Information About Graham - Edinburgh teacher - (1 review)
This is how 2 referees rated Graham:
Currently, I am teaching flute online for Fettes College, The City of Edinburgh Council and the Dunbar Music School.
After graduating from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland I travelled the world and received teaching from eminent professors namely, Adam Walker, Siobhan Grealy, Robert Winn, Lorna McGhee, Denis Bouriakov, William Bennett, Jeanne Baxstresser, Robert Langevin, Karen Jones, Kate Hill, Sarah Newbold, Ian Clarke and many others.
I offer the finest flute teaching in Edinburgh with experience and knowledge ranging from complete beginners to grade 8 (ABRSM & Trinity), SQA & A level exams, professional orchestras, composition, theory, accompaniment and performing as a soloist in a range of settings.
I was given award winning mentorship in teaching beginner flute players from The London Symphony Orchestra's Siobhan Grealy at the Dunbar Music School. The first few lessons are spent observing how the student learns and, if they're not a complete beginner, what knowledge they have/don't have. Once we get into a flow I guide the student through an appropriate beginner flute book or we play music of the students choosing supplemented with drills and tone exercises.
I always stay positive and try to unlock the students listening skills, so that they can hear what I hear. I do this through 'spot the difference', playing tunes they recognise, descriptive imagery, encouraging duets/ensemble playing and/or demonstration.
