Personal Description:

I have been playing the bass guitar and guitar for over 35 years and teaching since 2001.

I played my first gig in 1981 and have played many more since then. I don't think there is anything better than playing live.

I currently play bass in a well established function band, covering a wide variety of musical styles.

I have played weddings, birthdays and all manner of corporate events all over the country and have also played on a cruise ship.

I have previously played in a number of bands doing both original material and covers.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching since 2001, and have taught bass & guitar in schools, a music centre and from home.

In the last few months I have had to quickly adapt to online teaching and that has been achieved with little fuss.

I am qualified on bass guitar through the 'London College Of Music & Media' (through The Registry Of Guitar Tutors) with whom I passed the advanced grades (6, 7 & 8) with honours.

Former pupils have gone on to study at music colleges across the UK including the ACM (Academy of Contemporary Music) and BIMM (Brighton, Bristol, Birmingham & Manchester Institute(s) of Modern Music). Many others have gone on to play in local bands.

Although primarily a bassist, I have always played guitar and am comfortable teaching guitar up to intermedia**Contact Detail Removed**vel.

I have taught large classes with up to 13 students from the age of 4 to over retirement age and got them performing together in front of an audience within a few months.

Tutoring Approach:

My main approach to music tuition is that it should be fun!

I do like to get the basics covered properly, ensuring that good technique is understood and applied.

Once the student has the basics down I will taylor the lesson to their musical preferences and goals.
