Personal Description:
Born in Germany, I studied piano with side subject cello in Frankfurt and solo piano in Weimar, before coming to England, where I did a Masters in Music Performance (piano accompaniment) at the Guildhall School, London.
Currently, I study singing with Jessica Cash and I aim to take my FCTL (Performance degree at Master level) within the next couple of years.
I divide my time between work as accompanist, teaching and concerts, mainly as a pianist, but more and more also as a singer. I also have three children.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching the piano and the cello for 30 years, singing for twelve.I am tutor for Piano, Singing and Chamber music (currently Chamber Skills -the online version) at the City Lit, an adult college in London, where I also stand in for cello tutors if needed. I offer online courses/tuition in supporting subjects such as rhythm, theory and sight reading- available to individuals or groups.
In my accompanist work, I create backing tracks on demand. For singers and instrumentalists, amateur or professional, I also offer coaching and/or accompaniment for exams of all kinds.
Tutoring Approach:
I OFFER ONLINE TUITION VIA ZOOM OR SKYPE. Usually, also lessons from my home. Please note that I don’t travel to students’ homes.
I aim to develop an approach unique to the student. I offer a range of styles,taking into account type of music the student prefers.
Each of my lessons will cover technique and repertoire and efficient, time-saving ways to practice. I include theory, improvisation and composition, depending on relevance and interest.
I am happy to prepare students for exams, though I do not press pupils to take them. I run small concerts when possible, mostly at my home, as an opportunity for students to perform. I encourage everyone to take part, but it is not compulsory.
