I've been playing guitar (acoustic and electro-acoustic) for about 45 years, mainly self-taught, now playing mainly in small pub and club venues. My style is fingerpicking, a large range of musical genres from folk to classic rock, with emphasis on the instrumental performace (because my singing is not that great!).
Been a qualified teacher at college level since the 1990s, in several subjects besides music, and having recently retired I want to continue on a part-time, home-based level.
My approach is very much practical based, with only as much theory as is necessary for a competent performance. I am able to teach effectively at any level, and with any age group from primary school to adult, and easily adjust my lessons according to the ability of the student, which is one reason I intend to move to one-to-one sessions rather than full classes.
