Personal Description:

If it has always been your wish to Sing on the Stage and not just in shower you have come to the right place! Whether you are a beginner or advanced singer come on an adventure with me and with my guidance and support I can help you achieve your goals and ambitions.

I am a singer, composer and teacher living and working in London. I studied singing at the Royal Academy of Music 1998-2002. In 2003 I embarked on a Foundation year in Jazz at Trinity College of Music, and went on to study Jazz singing, harmony and performance at Middlesex University. In 2004 I completed a Music Therapy elective, working with children with severe mental and physical disabilities.

In 2003 I formed Electro-Pop duo Sheila McQueen together with my sister Jessica , managed by Paul Conroy. In 2011 we gained a place onto the prestigious Hit Sheet Magazine, used by music executives all over the world. We have performed widely, including in the 2008 final of UK Unsigned at the Hackney Empire. We recorded our debut EP at Rak Studios (whose other artists include Westlife and La Roux), produced by Jonathan Quarmby and mixed by Kevin Bacon (whose other artists include Benjamin Clementine, Duffy, Ian Brown, Plan B and the Sugababes).

From 2007 –2013 I was a singing teacher for the company Vocal Tutor, where I taught a wide range of ages with differing levels of ability. I also have theatrical skills, holding a LAMDA Gold Award for Dramatic Performance.

I formed Saint Genevieve In 2014 and is currently buried away in the studio recording and writing tracks for an EP which will launch on an EP later in the year.

Tutoring Experience:

I am a professional and private music teacher in London with long time experience of vocal teaching, speech level singing method (SLS), stage performing, studio recording and songwriting .

I aim to see the unique potential whether as a teacher or musical collaborator.

I teach individuals and groups/duos, from the very first beginners who have never sung before, to advanced singers looking to expand their repertoire and practising for auditions or industry showcases.

I can guide students according to ability and voice, but I’m equally happy to coach students who want to learn a specific song.

If you have sung previously and had a break from singing, but want to get back into shape, I can help!

I can provide the accompaniment in my classes, or we can use backing tracks. I also provide a microphone.

I specialise in making students feel at ease, knowing how terrifying your first lesson can be! There’ll always be a cup of tea on stand-by!

Any age group is welcome!

Tutoring Approach:

I teach the Speech Level Singing method (SLS), focusing on using the natural voice and keeping your style without straining.

Ways in which I can help you with Vocal Technique:

•Exercises to help you develop your range
•Registers – bridging the transition between head voice and chest voice, blending registers
•How to keep your voice healthy
•Breathing – how to understand the mechanics of breathing and exercises to further your breathing techniques
•Intonation
•Remedying bad technique
•Innovative approach to improvising
•Teaching how to make the song your own
•Utilising my acting skills, I can provide dramatic training (such as help with diction, posture and projection), to complement musical ability
