Information About Gary - Norwich teacher - (13 reviews)
This is how 2 referees rated Gary:
Hi! I'm Gary. I have worked in various fields as a flute teacher, writer and illustrator. I have played in a number of orchestras and bands. I am friendly! My day job is as a writer, and I have published three novels.
I have worked teaching flute and English in Turkey, Oxford, London and Norwich. I have Flute Grade 8 (Honours). I charge £15 per half hour and £25 per hour.
I enjoy teaching, and I know that everyone learns in a different way. I hope that I am always patient and encouraging. Personal rapport is of the greatest importance, and learning can't take place if the learner feels forced or doesn't feel able to ask questions. In the best case, learning should always be enjoyable and fun. Learners must feel that they have something to contribute to the subject and that their insights are valuable. I favour an approach that allows learners to harness the power of their own creativity.

I'm sorry that you feel I am not willing to share all of my knowledge. I think this is because I said I would give you another recommendation for a book but that it would be better to discuss the first two I'd given you before we go onto the third one, which is much more technical. Certainly while I was advising you I feel I never held back on the knowledge that I personally have, and I wanted to help you as much as possible.
Best of luck with your writing.
Thanks for all your help!
Thank you Gary !
We think that Gary has been such a good tutor that we won't need his help again - but would recommend him without reservation!
I hope to return to lessons soon!
