Information About Gareth - Hockley teacher

Personal Description:

To those reading, I am Gareth. As of writing, 30 years old and currently work as an IT technician at a local secondary school.

I have been playing guitar near daily for 19 years and have foubd some of my greatest joys playing alone, with others and even to the point of recording my own music.

I have a focus on Metal and Rock guitar playing with some dabbling into Jazz and Blues. I have occupied Rhythm sections in bands and have had a history of travking bass in recording sessions.

Tutoring Experience:

I am new to the world of guitar tutoring. While I have had limited experience teaching my instrument I have worked alongside and with teachers in their profession so the concept of a well structured lesson is something I am very aware of.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to beginners will start teaching an understanding of the instrument. What the different parts are, basic guitar maintainance, common music and guitar terminology.

A focus on scales and blues playing to begin with, along with healthy posture, warm ups and basic guitar music theory.

I am able to provide a guitar and amplifier for lessons for those wanting to try before they invest.

I am also happy to provide lessons and advice on composition for those who want to delve into that side of guitar focused music as well.
