Personal Description:

I have been playing music for as long as I can remember and have always had a deep appreciation for the art. My love for music started with playing the accordion and later developed into playing the piano and saxophone. I have played in various bands, ensembles, throughout my career, which has allowed me to explore and develop my skills as a musician. I studied music education at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and currently teach music in a high school.
I am dedicated to helping my students achieve their goals and reach their full potential in music.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching privately for a number of years, and during this time, I have had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of students with varying musical backgrounds, interests, and abilities. I have worked with students of all ages, from young children just starting their musical journey to mature adults looking to revisit a childhood passion. Some of my pupils play for fun, while others have more specific goals in mind, such as competing in competitions or sitting music exams. Overall, my teaching experience has given me a deep appreciation for the role of music education in shaping students' lives.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that music education should be an enjoyable, rewarding, and personalised journey for each student. My teaching philosophy is centered around creating a supportive and nurturing environment where students can grow and develop their skills at their own pace. I tailor my lessons to meet the individual needs, goals, and interests of each student, incorporating a mix of traditional and innovative teaching methods. I emphasise a strong foundation in music theory, technique, and ear training, which allows students to explore various styles and genres with confidence. Furthermore, I encourage my students to be active participants in their learning process, setting achievable goals, and taking ownership of their progress. I believe this approach fosters a lifelong love and appreciation for music.Through patience, encouragement, and my own passion for music, I strive to inspire my students to reach their full potential and to experience the joy and satisfaction that comes with musical accomplishment.
