Personal Description:
I am a qualified piano teacher in Marton Le Moor, near Ripon and Boroughbridge. I have worked as a secondary school teacher in private education. My students tell me that they love their lessons. I am dedicated to the positive development of children and young adults and strongly believe that learning to play a musical instrument like the piano aids learning and cognitive development for all ages.
Tutoring Experience:
Online lesson now operational. I have 18+ years of teaching experience. I have a 100% pass rate for all of my students in their ABRSM examinations, most to Distinction level. I have taught in schools but mainly at my home and my students have ranged from age 4 to 80 years. I continue to study and am currently studying for an MA in Music.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe that playing a musical instrument must be a joy. I approach teaching in a happy and fun way. I have lots of patience and my past school teaching experience means that I understand how praise is the best way to build confidence and a willingness to learn.
