Teaching is a joyful experience, it helps people to solve problems, improving their technical, emotional and intuitional skills and finally becoming performers and teachers of the new generation.
During years of work in this field I developed a strong empathy for every different student. Basically I consider 2 aspects:
1) Main Schedule Program (MSP)
For example, with children I choose these subjects: repertoire & technique, solfege & theory, composing & improvising. With more advanced students could be: repertoire & listening session, harmony and improvisation.
I organize the MSP after the first meeting with the student.
2) Extemporary Unfolding Lesson (EUL)
This is an approach within the MSP and includes new fresh ideas, tips, exercises coming out 'in the moment' from the teacher/student interaction, where the teacher leaves out more space for the student to be proactive, improving imagination and self-esteem.
These 2 aspects of my teaching make my lesson always fresh and exciting and at the same time always anchored to the student's achievements and goals.
