I am a professional musician, composer, and producer, who started his career 8 years ago. I have been playing guitar for 14 years, having started whilst studying music in sixth form. In my teens, I performed in various bands and groups across Europe, gaining experience in many styles and settings. I studied a music specialist course whilst at the University of West London, and have continued to perform internationally since.

My musical influences have covered many contemporary styles. Whilst in my teens, my playing consisted largely of classics such as the Beatles and '50s & '60s boogie and rock and roll. As my career progressed my interests shifted towards alternative rock and punk, whilst retaining a healthy exposure to genres such as jazz and funk, thus giving me a solid foundation in all guitar-based genres.

Tutoring Experience:

I started tutoring whilst still at school, teaching French as a second language from 2009 onwards. I started teaching guitar in 2012, and have continued to do so since. By teaching students of many backgrounds, I have gained a firm grasp of how to interact with, and accommodate, pupils from all walks of life. Understanding a student's background, and their reasoning for even picking up the instrument in the first place, is essential in being able to best approach lessons that will enable the tuttee to progress and reach goals that they did not think they could achieve.

With the current lockdown situation I have found myself moving to online tutoring, when necessary, with ease. With my professional two-camera set-up no amount of detail is lost when teaching, and with many years of experience in the digital sphere I am comfortable offering students a thorough and engaging lesson despite the session not being face-to-face.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a firm believer that each student's particular personal journey with the instrument is unique to them. Having been taught the traditional fashion whilst studying music in school and at university, I am able to help students progress through the grade system. I also enjoy curating lessons based more on each student's particular interests. My aim is to foster the pupil's imagination and creativity by tailoring the lessons to their specific needs and interests, so as to watch them grow as musicians and perfect the skillsets that will enable them to express themselves through their instrument.
