This is how 4 referees rated Emily:
Music has always been a part of my life. I started violin and piano at 7 years old and later singing at 11 years old. With the guidance of my teachers I was accepted to the Junior Royal Academy of Music where I studied for 7 years. I learnt invaluable skills here having solo tuition, chamber music lessons, orchestral and choir rehearsals.
I played regularly with the West Herts County Youth Orchestra which I led for 2 years.
I was accepted to The Purcell School of Music and studied there during my A Levels. This gave me a broader depth of musical experience and knowledge.
I chose to study violin performance for 4 years at The Royal Northern College of Music after finishing my secondary school education.
I won a place with the European Union Youth Orchestra who I toured with across Europe and America.
After finishing music college I performed regularly with The Liverpool Philharmonic and The Welsh National Opera.
I currently perform regularly with The Bristol Ensemble and teach a choir in Uley. I have been teaching violin, piano and singing from home for several years.
I have been teaching violin, piano and singing for several years in Stroud.
I am experienced with teaching children and adults. I am confident with beginners to advanced.
Everybody is an individual. I don’t believe there is one single way to teach music. Teaching an instrument is about finding a balance between the needs and aims of the student, whilst nurturing the skill and musical depth required to feel fulfilment. I treat every student as an individual and tailor my lessons in the most beneficial way. I am also positive, encouraging, flexible and motivating.
