Personal Description:
I started my musical career when I first joined stage school at the age of 4.
My music started to flourish when I began studying at school, taking my GCSE’s and also winning a memorial trophy for musicianship twice at that time.
I continued to work with many advanced musicians through my time at college, taking A levels, a diploma in Fine Art and securing my grade 8 singing with a Distinction.
During my first year at University in Chelsea London, I continued to go on and take my ARSM Diploma, again achieving with a Distinction, with the support of two very well established musicians, both who have worked on the international stage performing, teaching, and adjudicating. During a gap year and a change of direction I was offered a teaching role at a local pre prep school. During this time I also began developing my own teaching business for children and beginners in singing, piano and theory. In July 2021 I graduated from the University of Lincoln with a 1st Class Honours in BA(Hons) Education. I also graduated from the University of Lincoln with an MSc in Psychology in 2021.
Tutoring Experience:
I have taken part in a range of teaching, including creating my own business which has been running for past 5 years. As well as this I have worked alongside children as part of a youth club, teaching them music theory and practical music. I was previously a creativity volunteer at Saint Andrew's hospice for 4 years. Here I worked with people ranging from the age of 3 to 20.
Tutoring Approach:
Throughout my teaching experience, I have been able to explore a range of learning abilities. I feel that with this in mind I have been able to develop an approach to teaching which tailors to each individual learner. I do not pressure students to take exams, however, if required, I am more than willing to guide them through the process. I want my students learning experience to be exciting and fun in the hopes that they will take music away with them, to enjoy for years to come.

Emily-Jayne's Feedback

Aside from the quality teaching, the venue and environment Emily provides as part of her lessons (if you do lessons in person) are private and allow a student/learner to relax and perform at their best.
I would highly recommend Emily to anyone serious about learning to play the Piano.
Also she makes a cracking cuppa tea! :) Keep up the good work!
