Elliot is a professional pianist, music tutor, producer, songwriter and gigging musician with over 20 years' experience in the music industry.
Elliot has performed with a wide range of bands and musicians over the years, playing at venues such as the Jazz Cafe, Jagz, Oxford's Zodiac and London Astoria, as well festivals such as Secret Garden Party, Sunrise and Hamswell.
Since completing his degree in Creative Music Technology at Brunel University, Elliot has become a professional songwriter and producer for a number of record labels within the dance music industry.
As a tutor, Elliot teaches private lessons for students of all ages, as well as providing a number of adult piano courses for art centres.
Elliot teaches all styles and levels of ability, but tends to focus on more popular styles of music. He has good experience in teaching both privately and in schools, as well as running a number adult piano courses at South Hill Park Art centre.
Elliot is experienced in teaching the different piano grade systems i.e. grades 1-8, but particularly specialises in teaching improvised and more contemporary styles of playing, such as blues, funk and jazz.
Elliot has a flexible and relaxed approach to teaching and personalises his teaching to suit each student's musical needs and interests. Whether you are looking to play for your own enjoyment or want to sit for exams, Elliot will help you achieve your goals.
For students who are interested in a completely personalised lesson plan, Elliot provides one-to-one private lessons from his music studio in his home. Private lessons usually last one hour but timings are flexible to suit the student.
A electronic piano is provided for the lessons along with any new music material covered in the session. If there is anything specific you would like to work on then please bring this along to the lesson.
Elliot generally does not travel to students' homes for private tuition, due to time and costs, but if you have specific needs then it is advised that you contact him first to discuss what might be possible.
