Information About Elaine - Loughborough teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Elaine:
I live on my own in a bungalow in a quiet area of Loughborough. I am mother to three sons and grandmother to 7 grandchildren, 4 of whom are now learning the piano.
I have some experience of teaching class music in schools, however, most of my experience comes from teaching in schools in the Northamptonshire area with the County Music Service, from 1996 to 2014. In 2014 I moved to Loughborough, where I have been teaching Piano/Keyboard at Loughborough Studios until earlier this year. I have taught Piano at home for well over 40 years and have prepared students for ABRSM and UWL London College of Music exams.
I take some time with beginners to firmly establish the basics in understanding written music and acquiring skills to play simple exercises and pieces. I introduce all students to theory work early in their lessons. As progress is made, I will take my students through practical tests as an introduction to graded exams. Usually, I will start to prepare a student for Grade 1 exam after 12-18th months, depending on progress, and a desire to take exams. By no means is the exam preparation compulsory, but it is encouraged as it gives focus to their progress. I teach in term time only, half hour or one hour lessons, depending on the grade of the student.
