Information About Eimear - Magherafelt teacher

Personal Description:

I am an experienced musician with many accreditation’s. I have a grade 8 with Distinction in classical flute, grade 8 with merit in piano, grade 5 music theory with merit, an A* in GCSE music, A in advanced subsidiary music and I’m working on my advanced level music. I also hold many Fleadh Cheoil medals such as Gold in solo flute in County Fleadhs and Silver in All Ireland group catagory. I have played tin whistle for all my life which progressed onto traditional Irish flute as well as classical flute. Piano and ukulele followed the following year.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching instruments for 3 years and have taught a range of different ages from the age of 6-16. I have a good relationship with all my pupils and have always received positive feedback. I am used to teaching different standards and helping those who find it more difficult than others. I’m open to all abilities as every one should always try an instrument as it is proven to improve many everyday skills in any person. Music is for every body.

Tutoring Approach:

I normally teach 30 minute lessons, the structure of these depend on the instrument. If any pupil is doubtful of their ability or are lacking motivation or confidence, I always can relate to them as I was once in their position. But I tell them that it’s okay to have doubtful days but eventually you’re going to go back to music as it is a simple pleasure and an amazing talent to have. I like my pupils to watch others play, may this just be a video on YouTube, to help them aspire to something. Prices are written per hour.
