Information About Dominic - Bristol teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Dominic:
Hi everyone, my name is Dom. I'm have been playing drums for the past 11 years now. My focus is jazz however, I have had lots of experience playing in many other styles from folk to afrobeat. I have completed a jazz degree from the Conservatoire Leeds College of Music, where I also played in a variety of bands from alternative pop bands to folk, as well as doing lots of recording. I have been taught by some of the UK's premier drummers and can't wait to share some of the fantastic methods I have learnt with you. Whether you're just starting out or have been playing all your life there is always more to learn!
I am currently teaching at Bristol's only Pre-conservatoire training scheme, specialising in jazz. I have also taught privately on and off for a number of years now.
I will present learning the drums in a way that incorporates all the elements a drummer will need to be as successful as possible. Creativity and musicality and how they can be applied to all elements of the drums should be at the heart of learning, and this creativity coupled with the technical skills needed to play the instrument effectively-such as good technique, rudiments, sight reading, and transcription- are what will help you advance as a drummer and as a musician. I will offer you the chance to present your own interests, and how I can assist you with your own personal goals, as well as offering you practice routines/materials, musical examples, and graded material if desired.
