This is how 2 referees rated David:
David is a vocal studies graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff.
After graduating, David began his professional career with Glyndebourne Festival Opera and later with Garsington Festival Opera. Since 2008, David has been a principle member of the award-winning ensemble 'Only Men Aloud' and has combined his work as a teacher alongside a busy and exciting schedule of concerts, television and radio appearances both at home and abroad.
David’s continues to perform both on the Opera and Concert platform which to date has given him the opportunity to perform in some of the world’s most prestigious Concert Halls, Arenas and Stadiums, as well as working alongside some of the worlds leading classical and popular music artists.
As a singing teacher I have been working for the last six years both privately and as a peripatetic at two secondary schools in South Wales. Within these roles I practice all styles of vocal teaching including Classical, Classical Crossover, Music Theatre, Rockschool and everything in-between!
I also work as a freelance Workshop Leader and Vocal Coach for a number of Choirs and Youth Ensembles in South Wales.
Overall I aim to encourage every pupil to achieve their own personal goals. Whether thats studying for a music GCSE, A-Level, Graded Exam, or just for fun, the same positive approach to singing applies!
Every singer is different so finding an individual approach to learning and building a rapport with each student is fundamental to their ongoing development, regardless of the musical style or genre that the student is looking to study.
Most importantly I believe that singing lessons should be enjoyable so alongside hard work, commitment and a can-do attitude, that will always be at the forefront of every lesson.
