The double bass is a hugely versatile instrument and I hope to be able to share my love for the instrument and pass on the valuable knowledge and experience I have gained through my career so far. I like to teach in a friendly and informal manner and I incorporate all elements of playing in my lessons, right hand/ left hand technique, scales/studies, pieces to learn, orchestral excerpts, musical theory. I specialize in the french bow (overhand) but have competency in German bow also. I can teach how to play sitting/standing. I can teach through a wide range of ages from kids to adults. Ownership of a double bass is desired, I can also give advice on purchasing instruments/ equipment. I believe grade exams are a great vehicle for progress and am happy to prepare students for grades 1-8.
With Bass guitar I can teach beginners to advanced, my lessons will be tailored to suit every individual's needs and my lessons can cover technique, music reading/theory, preparation for grade exams, ear training/musicianship.
