Information About David - Barking teacher
This is how 2 referees rated David:
I am 23 years old and have been playing bass guitar for over 10 years. During this time I have played in many different bands and ensembles, ranging from originals, to functions, to jazz big bands. I decided to take up teaching music and the bass privately a number of years ago, as I had noticed a trend in the music scene where bass was generally seen as the 'boring' and 'easy' instrument to play, with many bass players not giving it the due love, attention and commitment it deserves. I wanted to change that outlook, and decided the best way to do this was to pass on my knowledge, experience and musical open-mindedness to others. It' for this reason I have a real passion for teaching, and am keen to take on students no matter what their gender, age or ability level.
I currently teach numerous students the London and Essex area, and have done so for a number of years. I have taught students of all ages, and at varying different levels, ranging from absolute beginner to players of an advanced level that wanted to hone their knowledge of particular aspects of the bass guitar.
I teach many aspects of playing the bass that are essential in allowing you to find YOUR style, and to help you be the best player you can. I can teach you elements of technique, theory, style / genre, groove, rhythm, harmony, melody, dynamics, and whatever else it is you wish to learn in a structured, professional lesson. I can also help prepare you for exams if needed by teaching the syllabus. If desired I also teach my students about the fundamentals of bass maintenance and repair. For me it's not just about learning to play the bass, it's about being a top quality musician.
