This is how 2 referees rated Daria:
I am a Swiss born soprano in my final undergraduate year at the Royal College of Music in London. I study with Amanda Roocroft and am an RCM scholar. I am 23 years old and I speak three languages fluently (English, French and Russian) and I speak Italian well.
I have performed extensively in Switzerland, engagements included singing at "Les Classiques de Villars" festival, singing at the Theatre of Vevey for a charity Gala, singing the role of Frasquita (Carmen) at the Montreux Jazz Festival and many more. Since I have moved to London I have performed several times at the Swiss Embassy, have sung at the Swiss Ball event in Claridge's, sang at the Royal Festival Hall and at the O2 Arena. I have participated in many masterclasses including those with Dennis O'Neill, Julia Lezhneva, Cheryl Studer, Renata Scotto and have observed many masterclasses at the RCM including those of Sarah Connolly and Kiri Te Kanawa.
I have been teaching for almost three years and have worked with people with different goals and levels. At the Royal College of Music, one of our units was completely dedicated to teaching singing in which we learned about the singing anatomy, the physics of singing and the approach of singing education and technique. These classes were made to teach us the art of teaching singing, therefore I have a clear idea about what I am teaching and have not just one approach but many. I have worked with beginners and young groups of children, which requires a completely different set of skills than when working with adolescents or adults. I have taught in Switzerland, Latvia and in London. I have taught in English, French and Russian therefore If required I can speak in the native language of the student.
I have a different approach to each of my students depending on their age, level, ability and goal. I always teach in a way that will be fun, comprehensible and will result in progress. I structure my lessons well in advance and before starting teaching a student, we work out what we are aiming for and then work towards it. I can help beginners/intermediate students in learning new pieces/songs; I can work on technique, repertoire and language coaching in French, Russian, Italian and German pronunciation. I can adapt and work around the students’ needs. I am very kind but I do like to challenge my students and see them progress. I am very inventive and creative in my teaching and use lots of imagery that works for children as well as adults and beginners as well as advanced students.
