Personal Description:

Hi! I'm an experienced violinist from Scotland, currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London where I won the Harrison Gowland Scholarship.

I attended the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Junior department, where I received lessons and coaching on a Saturday with Scotland's best musicians and teachers. During my time there I led both the Symphony Orchestra and the String Ensemble for two years. I perform regularly as a soloist and have given a solo recital at the Scottish Parliament for the First Ministers Portrait Exhibition.
I am currently Leader of the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland for the 2019 season, where we give concerts all around Scotland in Easter and Summer. I was lucky enough to play at the BBC Proms in the Albert Hall with NYOS in 2016. Most recently, I was a finalist in the Edinburgh Concerto Competition playing Samuel Barber’s Violin Concerto.

One of my most recent ventures has been performing in an orchestra scene for the new Elton John Movie “Rocketman”, directed by Dexter Fletcher. I am regularly invited to lead the Rosewood Sinfonia for London Oriana’s Choir, and play with Orion Orchestra, Academy Chamber Orchestra, Thanet Festival Orchestra.

During my time at the Academy, I have performed under conductors such as Edward Gardner, Marin Alsop and Jac van Steen in the Royal Academy Symphony Orchestra. I am also a keen chamber musician and is currently a member of the Triquetra string trio where we are receiving regular coaching from violinist Levon Chillingirian and have upcoming concerts with the trio at the Academy.

Tutoring Experience:

I have experience teaching violin and piano to school age children, each of them with different aims and musical backgrounds. I love teaching and sharing my passion for music. I enjoy working with children and would like to further my experience in teaching adults. I believe if you have the right motivation, age does not matter at all.
I am able to teach through ABRSM grades and other kinds of qualifications or if you're just wanting to do it for fun! So we can discuss your aims together. I am also able to teach music theory.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a relaxed, enthusiastic and patient teacher and try to make each lesson different, fun and enjoyable. I would be happy to help you to learn music as a complete beginner or strengthen your abilities as an advanced player. I charge £30 for one hour.

If you are interested in receiving violin and piano lessons, please feel free to contact me for a chat / any questions you may have or to arrange a lesson.
