Dan is a saxophonist and composer who lives in Hertford. Initially inspired by the sounds of Charlie Parker, Cannonball Adderley and Michael Brecker, Dan has been writing music for and leading his own groups since the age of 16. A winner of the Yamaha Jazz Scholarship Award, Dan is a versatile and creative saxophonist. He plays regularly on the UK jazz scene with many ensembles, previously performing at London Jazz Festival and Brecon Jazz Festival. Current projects include the /Komor/Reynolds Trio, Kaya Quartet and the Dan Quartet all performing around the UK this year and showcasing his broad range of influences ranging from Lee Konitz/Warne Marsh through to Ben Wendel and Bon Iver. As well as performing on saxophone Dan is an accomplished Flautist and Clarinettist and a 1-1 peripatetic teach and workshop leader.
I have been teaching privately for 4 years. In that time I have also taught in secondary schools.
I thoroughly enjoy teaching and have taught students of all ages and abilities.
Lessons are tailored to my students with the focus on enjoying music whilst working towards achieving their goals be it playing your favourite tunes, graded exams or music college.
