Personal Description:

I am a confident and enthusiastic graduate of Music Performance/Education - gaining a 2:1 degree from York St John University. I am a professional musician currently working in the York area. I play in the York Guildhall Orchestra, as well as 'The Ebor String Quartet'. I also have experience in recording with local artists.

Tutoring Experience:

I have had previous experience tutoring Violin, Viola and Music Theory in both small groups and one to one. As well as this, I have completed various teaching placements in schools across the City of York - teaching in whole classes and private teaching.

I have had experience with a range of abilities and am able to tailor tutoring sessions to the individual needs, allowing the student to receive the best possible learning experience.

I am able to teach up to A-level in Music Theory, as well as up to Grade 8 on Viola and Grade 7 on Violin.

Tutoring Approach:

I have an encouraging and friendly approach to teaching and I make my tutoring sessions as fun and as engaging for the students, as I believe this creates a positive learning environment for any age. In my sessions, I cater for individual needs whether this be exam preparation, casual playing or orchestral excerpts.
