Personal Description:

Qualified with teaching experience, I am a classical piano teacher with a BMus honours degree (Bachelor of Music) from the University of Birmingham, where I majored in performance. Being academically inclined, I then continued my education by completing an MMus degree (Master of Music) at King’s College London. Prior to University I grew up in Milton Keynes where I started learning piano at the age of 13, having stumbled across music somewhat by accident at school, and continued ever since through lessons, recitals, and accompanying choirs/instrumental groups.

Tutoring Experience:

Since October 2017 I have been teaching piano from my home in Milton Keynes with a range of students from the age of 5 years old and upwards. Many of my students have been beginners, but some have come to me with more knowledge including adult learners who are returning to the piano.

Between 2016-2017 I spent a year working as a teaching assistant at Cofton primary school in Birmingham helping mostly with 7-9-year olds. In this capacity I regularly taught Maths and English one to one with certain pupils, but I also taught up to a whole class where I led several music lessons and accompanied the children’s singing during their Christmas assembly.

Tutoring Approach:

I am keen to teach both technical skills and music theory, as well as inspiring a love for music through lessons that suit the interests and aspirations of the pupil. I mainly teach classical music, but I am happy to teach towards playing popular and/or film music. In addition, I can prepare pupils for ABRSM exams or simply teach through an unexamined process.

So regardless of whether you are a complete beginner or an experineced learner please do not hesitate to get in touch.
