Personal Description:

Hello! I'm Christopher and I am currently an undergraduate student at Leeds College of Music studying under renowned pianist and lecturer, Jakob Fichert. I enjoy a variety of music genres but I specialise in western classical and I adore nearly all composers but I have a soft spot for Bartók! I'm am very friendly and love passing on my knowledge to eager learners!

Tutoring Experience:

I have attained the majority of my teaching experience within primary schools working as a teaching assistant. During this time I put together small keyboard ensembles for beginners which were so successful they continued them after I left for university. During the first semester of my second year of university I received a high first in a music education module. This module has given me a new insight into modern teaching techniques and establishing a lasting rapport with students, along with tailoring my teaching style to accommodate all kinds of people.

Tutoring Approach:

I can offer a fun yet structured style of teaching tailored to meet the needs of each student; whether that includes preparing for exams (scales/arpeggios/sight reading and graded pieces) or casual learning simply for leisure.
As I am still a student myself, I can use the knowledge my lecturers are passing on to me to make sure my lessons are high quality and up-to-date.
I encourage all my students to explore music at their own pace and I would never force anyone to learn a piece they didn't want to. That is the quickest way to end someone's interest in music.
Music should never be a chore and I hope that through my teaching, students can hone their skills and keep their passion for music alive.
