Personal Description:

I started playing piano since the age of 5 as a hobby until 16 when I got grade 8 from the ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal School of Music). Afterwards I started playing Organ and got grade 8. I also have grade 5 theory of music from the ABRSM.
I enjoy playing music as a hobby, as I found it very revitalising from the busy day to day life. It’s a very effective and enjoyable way to release stress in our own pace. Because I started to play piano at a very young age, it has helped me to focus in school and throughout my life in the academic years. It has also brought me a lot of performance opportunities during my school life.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching Piano and Music Theory privately since leaving University for many years now, especially with young age 6-8 years old children. I have run music lesson in groups before to create a more interactive environment for young children to communicate with their peers.
I have taught teenage and young professional before, depends on individual needs, I have helped students to achieve grades for academic needs, as well as just teaching them playing the piano for leisure.

Tutoring Approach:

I am friendly and encouraging, depends on the age of the student, I have different approach to suit individual needs, to ensure you will get the results you want under an enjoyable atmosphere.
For younger students, I believe making them to enjoy and have fun in the lesson is important. In order to build a hobby (or skill for them in the future), it’s important to make them feel good about it. Instead of having structured lesson, depends on their rate of learn I will have different teaching plans and ensure it’s not a burden for them.
For older students (teenage to adults), I am flexible to suit individual needs. I can help you to achieve grades for academic needs, as well as teaching you different style of music that you enjoy or interested to play.
I will be happy to do 30 mins trial lesson before we both commit to longer lessons.
