This is how 3 referees rated Christopher:
I'm a Professional Freelance Musician from Northern Ireland with the majority of my work being performance based. I've recently graduated from The University of Hull, receiving a First Class Honours in Jazz & Popular Music.
I'm a very dependable person and enjoy building relationships with new students. I'm always enthusiastic about playing music and love creating that buzz when students are just as excited about music too!
I'm a classically trained musician and particularly enjoy chamber music. I also enjoy performing popular music within different bands, artists and as an original singer-songwriter with guitar, violin, vocals and loop-station.
I've been a private violin tutor since 2011 with experience teaching children and adults from beginner to advanced level.
I've been directing music ensembles since 2013. This includes string quartets, chamber string ensembles and orchestras from beginner to advanced level.
Understanding the students direction is essential and that includes giving options to help them best choose their path. My focus is on creating diciplined but fun lessons to make sure the progress being made by the student is appropriate and that they understand why they are doing what they are doing. I'm always looking for new books, methods and exercises to keep the lessons fresh with a focus to concentrate on the students interests.
I introduce listening excersies with the use of instruments to get a grasp of improvisation and relative pitch training. It becomes a fun and recurring part of each lesson and the skills adapted are invaluable.
