Charlotte is an experienced teacher who specialises in adult and teenage tuition. As well as running a full-time teaching practice, she is also an active performer and gives regular recitals. She enjoys teaching complete beginners to advanced students and is happy for students to take grades or just play for pleasure. Further information is available on her website **Web Address Removed**
Charlotte taught part-time as a music student and for several years afterwards, then full-time since 2003. She believes her continuing professional development is essential to maintaining a fresh approach to her teaching and regularly undertakes training to update her teaching skills. She also continues to expand her skills as a performer with post-graduate performance study.
Charlotte is happy for students to play for pleasure or take exams. She recognises that students learn for different reasons: while some want to progress rapidly and put in many hours a week at the piano, others have little time to fit in practise around a busy work and family life so just do what they can. She is happy to be flexible in her approach. She also teaches teenagers who prefer to be treated as an adult, making it clear that they are expected to take responsibility for their own progress. She has found this approach to be very successful with teenagers who are sufficiently well-motivated.
