Personal Description:
I started my musical training and the trumpet at the age of eight at Westminster Choir School For Boys in London. In 1993 I was awarded a music scholarship into Sherborne School For Boys. At the same time I played with the Dorset Youth Orchestra for five years.
In September 1998 I was accepted into the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and was taught by John Miller (ex Philip Jones Brass Ensemble).
During this time I played professionally with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and the Halle Orchestra as well as playing in the Trelights Brass Quintet, a professional brass ensemble.
In 2002 I was awarded a Bachelor of Music/GRAD RNCM and in 2003 a Master of Music in Performance from the Royal Northern College Of Music in England. In the same year I accepted the position of Second Trumpet in The Macao Orchestra where I performed within the orchestra, as a soloist in the Vivaldi Double Trumpet Concerto and as a member of the Macao Brass Quintet until 2011.
After moving to Hong Kong in 2012 I was busy freelancing and frequently performed with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, The City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong as a core member,as well as being invited to play with the Malaysia Philharmonic Orchestra.
My interests include motor racing, live football, theatre and of course travel as I've been lucky enough to travel around most of Asia while teaching and performing as well as a large part of Europe.

I use electronic and physical materials and can focus on grade based learning with the ABRSM ( associated board of the Royal Schools of music), or methods including improvisation without any specific exams.
The students voice is as important as the teachers and we can both learn from each other. Most importantly I aim to teach the student how to listen and practice efficiently.
